Here we are in 2019 the culmination of a decade and the grand finale of all the trends from 2010 to 2019 as through they were cleaning house for a new era in fashion and in anticipation the designers could not resist giving us a peek of what to expect in the coming decade.
The designers are always at their best but they went that extra mile for the 2019 Spring/Summer Collection. Dolce & Gabbana in their usual unique classic style gave us dynamite double breasted suit with cropped trousers in a floral stripe complete with dramatic oversized earrings.
Denim started the decade and has maintained it’s hold on the runway. Balmain delivered on a silver platter a chic denim ensemble with the ever popular denim jacket, teamed up with baggy knee length shorts.
Georges Chakra gave us everything and more! The fitted dress – one arm draped with a soft flowing shawl, and the illusion of polka dots on one side.
Breathtaking design by Alexis Mabille – A stunning gown with large floral motifs, who could ask for anything more – I am so looking forward to the fall collection it promises to be a grand finale to the decade!
Brocade has always been a timeless favourite for evening wear throughout the decade and it’s no surprise that Michael Kors included this rich brocade evening suit in his 2019 collection
Tony Ward evening wear collection continued with the always and forever plunging neckline in shimmering purple also included in his stunning collection was a cream chiffon ruffle fishtail evening dress finished with a bolero sleeve shawl.
2019 RTW Saint Laurent
Animal Print has been on the runway for every season since the decade started, shoes, handbags, evening wear, beach wear just name it. Animal Print made an indelible mark in the fashion arena. It is no surprise that it will end the decade and most likely sneak into the 2020 collections.
The eternal shirt dress is a staple in the world of fashion, this season Fedrico Tosi version was done in pin stripes with a tie sash at the front.
Among Matty Bovan Collection there was a combination of colourful layered prints, dramatic earrings and chunky necklaces.
Paco Rabanne included an unexpected mix of pattern and textures. Plaid combined with sequin pants and furry sweater – Looks so good!
